Winter is a joyous time of the year and a wonderful time to get married. Don’t let cold weather scare you away from picking a Saturday in January as your wedding date. The decoration ideas are endless and a little ice and snow can’t stop us! Typically the weather is never really bad although it came close this Saturday. With some wonderful maneuvering by the bride’s mom and The Carlyle House, the wedding went off without a hitch! It couldn’t have been more pretty or perfect! With a little improvising on the time we got almost all of the guests here! The decorations were beautiful, the bride looked amazing, and the food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed the hand passed appetizers and the wonderful sit-down dinner. The assorted desserts were a big hit along with the beautiful wedding cake. The two families were AWESOME and this is one wedding we will never forget!!!
A few words from the bride’s mom….
Again, huge thanks to you and your staff. The wedding was everything Amelia dreamed of since she was about 3 years old.
Your flexibility, amazing organizational skills, nd calm, kind demeanor, made the impossible possible.
Changing to 2 was a great decision. I think we ended up losing only about 20 people. And your patience as we arranged seating was really appreciated. The table assignments worked out really well. The extra food was perfect for the after party at the hotel and will also be good at today’s final event: our open house. The after party at the hotel, complete with jigsaw puzzles, poker, uno and other games, was a huge success. Truly an incredible day which was all the more miraculous bc it truly had potential to be a
disaster :)Again, thank you.

As the bride’s mom, I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the event. We did the ceremony and the reception here and it was flawless. Our guests said it was one of the most fun weddings they had attended. Everyone complimented us on the food, the beautiful venue, and how smoothly it all went from ceremony to reception, to the sparkler exit. Most importantly, my daughter got the wedding of her dreams. That would have been great under any circumstances – it was incredible given the fact that all this happened during an ice storm weekend. Gerise, the venue coordinator, worked with us to pull together a beautiful event – going so far as volunteering to pick up every one of her staff in a 4 wheel drive. The staff was amazing, adjusting to our ever changing guest numbers. None of our guests had a clue of the coordination going on behind the scenes – they just experienced a beautiful, fun wedding. Thanks to all at the Carlysle House for giving my daughter the wedding she had been dreaming of since she was a little girl!!!

The BEST wedding venue. My daughter had her ceremony & reception here. The venue is gorgeous – huge chandeliers and beautiful old house feel. You can customize the decorations on the mantelpieces and bookshelves so it has a very personal feel. The food is excellent – our guests raved about it. Gerise, the venue co-ordinator, was so easy and wonderful to work with. She answered all our pre-wedding questions quickly, helped us stay within our budget, and when the wedding day was in the middle of a January ice storm, helped us find a way to make it all happen. My daughter had a fun, beautiful, amazing wedding in the middle of an ice storm weekend because the folks at this family-owned business did what it took to make it happen. So glad we chose a family run place instead of a corporate-run venue! We just can’t say enough good things about our entire experience.
